
Femi Fani-Kayode
Early Life and Education
Born on October 16, 1960, in Lagos, Nigeria, Femi Fani-Kayode hails from a distinguished lineage of lawyers and political figures.
He attended prestigious institutions, including Harrow School, the University of London, and Cambridge University, earning degrees in law.
Subsequently, he was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985. In 1993, he embraced Pentecostal Christianity under the mentorship of Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams of Ghana.
Political Career
Fani-Kayode's political journey began in the early 1990s with roles in the National Republican Convention and the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO). He returned to Nigeria in 2001 and served as Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Olusegun Obasanjo from 2003 to 2006.
Later, he held ministerial positions in Culture and Tourism, and Aviation. In 2015, he was appointed Director of Media and Publicity for the Jonathan/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organization.
Legal Challenges and Acquittals
Between 2008 and 2025, Fani-Kayode faced multiple legal battles, including charges of money laundering and forgery. He was acquitted in several cases, with the most recent being a forgery charge in February 2025. These legal proceedings spanned over 18 years, culminating in his complete exoneration.

In 2021, Fani-Kayode joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing a desire to support President Muhammadu Buhari's administration. He continues to be an active voice in Nigerian politics, contributing to national discourse through various platforms.
